You are free to load gear into the building before (barring there’s no early event) or after the designated load in time; however, please wait until there is a Sound Technician present before loading gear onto the stage. Load in can be done from the front load-in door located to the left of the patio. For loading in, temporary parking is limited to street parking availability. Parking is limited to street parking and The Summit parking lot on the west side of the building ONLY after 5:30pm (note cars must be out of the lot by 7am the following day). The Lowes parking lot across the street is locked at night and they tow randomly so park there at your own risk.The production crew at The Camel likes to run a tight ship. If the bill is a multiple band/musician bill, please be aware of the time constraints before doors. The production crew wants to make everyone happy … with that being said, if you would like a sound check, please be on time and prepared. Often, production only has enough time to check the last (headline) and first (opener) act. If the headliner isn’t on time for a check, production will move on to the other available and willing acts for a sound check.At the conclusion of show, Camel production staff will check over our equipment. If any damages to our equipment are found to be at the fault of the artist, a portion of funds will be withheld from the settlement.
Cancelations happen, in the event that one or more artists need to cancel please make us aware of it as soon as possible. That way we have the most amount of time to find replacements. Email peter@thecamel.org, matt@thecamel.org, call the venue, end us an instagram DM, anything to try to make sure we all stay in the loop.
If additional soundcheck/load in time is desired we can provide for $25 an hour. We also have a hazer on site that can be used at a $50 upcharge on production.

PROMOTION OF THE SHOW: The Camel has an in house promotions manager and does our best to promote every show at the venue through digital, print, and in-venue channels. While we will include your show in our regular promotions, we also rely on each band performing to put forth their best effort in promotions. Please announce the show on your band and personal social accounts (instagram, Facebook, twitter TikTok, etc) but also, nothing beats good old fashioned personal invites to your friends, family, coworkers etc. If we can assist, or you have any fun and unique promotional ideas, let us know!

RULES AND REGS: No outside food or drink of any kind. If you bring in outside food or drink you will be asked to discard it. If you bring in outside alcohol you will be asked to leave. Virginia has very strict liquor laws and we could lose our liquor license. If any band members are under 21 years old we will not allow alcohol stocked in the green room.

Our greenroom is also our office as well as a throughway for our dry storage. Employees will regularly be walking through for various reasons. We also only have the one space to share between all acts for the night.
