The Boston Blues Challenge

As an affiliate of The Blues Foundation , The Boston Blues Society holds a yearly Blues Challenge. Winners of that event will represent Boston in Memphis during The Blues Foundation's International Blues Challange

By the rules of the IBC, affiliated Blues Societie's are required to stage a live regional preliminary IBC competition. The winner of that event represents the organization in the International Blues Challenge held annually in Memphis, TN along historic Beale Street.

We've fielded some questions and in a nutshell Blues and Blues sub Genres are allowed. Society Blues Challenge winners when in Memphis will be jusged on musicianship, Originality & Stage Presence. Visit The IBC Blues challenge Rules Page for more details.

Also, to qualify as a youth act or solo/duo the performer(s) will all have to be under the age of 21 at the time of the International Blues Challenge in 2025 (January 11th, 2025)
