Listen live, in person or over the radio! 91.3 WFHB presents Billy Fortune, Prairie Scout, and Brick Lancaster: Live at Buskirk-Chumley Theater. This monthly concert series features performances from local and regional artists in collaboration between Bloomington's community theater and radio station.
Will “Billy” Fortune is a project based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. Born and raised in Coshocton, Ohio, Will grew up in the countryside of the state. The music was born out of Will’s room on his Tascam 4-Track. With influences Townes Van Zandt, Waylon Jennings, and Merle Haggard, Will wanted to take country influences with a new twist. When “Silverton” was created, Will shot it out to whoever was willing to listen. From there, Will connected with Hum Drum Press and the rest is history. Will is incredibly grateful for his talented band consisting of Lucas Vanderpool, Nathan Reder, Summer Feldt, Elliott Pippin, and Blake Panstingel.
Brick Lancaster is the solo project of keyboardist, singer, and songwriter, Reeder Vyain. After years of work as a collaborator, Vyain put his experience, heart, soul, and effort into his debut LP, Upanatem. The record is a cohesive, massive, and heartfelt statement. You can see Reeder as a keyboardist for labelmates Slug Rug and Westhead, along with bringing the Brick Lancaster songs to life on stage.
Prairie Scout started as the solo project of singer-songwriter Natalie Ingalls and grew to the current band composed of Julia Fegelman (bass), Wesley Davis (drums) and John Hasey (guitar). Influenced lyrically and sonically by folk-pop icon Vashti Bunyan, contemporaries like Wednesday and feeble little horse and the odd science fiction story, combined with the band’s blues, punk and jazz backgrounds, Prairie Scout puts their own twist on indie rock.
