Get ready for a night of big laughs and bold performances at Zenbarn! We’re bringing you a stacked lineup of comedians, featuring:

MADDIE CROSS

Maddie Cross is a Burlington-based standup comedian. She was a finalist in the 2023 Vermont's Funniest Comedian competition. She's opened for nationally touring headliners such as Phil Hanley, Jackie Kashian, and Laurie Kilmartin, and is a frequent player on local comedy shows around Burlington and northern Vermont. Maddie hails for Washington DC and her upbringing in the nation's capital heavily influences her comedy. She works in higher ed and on the weekends fulfills her childhood dream of working at a bookstore. She's a younger twin, a classically trained musician, and she has memorized the script of "All the President's Men."

NICO D’ELISA

Nico D’Elisa is a Burlington, VT-based comedian and musician who has been making audiences laugh for nearly five years (though she has been attempting to do so since her birth in 1991). The lead singer of Nico Suave and The Mothership, Nico was also a finalist in the 2024 Vermont’s Funniest Comedian contest. Nico has opened for SNL’s Alex Moffat and shared the stage with comedy heavyweights like Kyle Kinane and Beth Stelling. Her dramatic and unhinged storytelling, often laden with (impressive) singing and (mediocre) dancing, makes her a comedian to watch out for.

E.J. MURPHY

Vermont native E.J. Murphy has played top clubs all over, and has built a reputation as one of the Northeast's consistently funny comedy acts while developing into one of Boston's new headliners. His comedy has appeared on MSN’s home page, Sirius XM, Audible’s Sounds Like America, and Rooftop Comedy's daily 8. He has appeared in the semi-finals of The Boston Comedy Festival, The Oddball, Burbank, Asheville and Burbank Comedy Festivals, and The Comedy Central Laugh Riots, and has even opened for Styx. His Vermont upbringing helped him form his unique perspective, which blends with an onstage friendliness to make him a hit with all audiences.

PAUL TENNEY

Paul Tenney is celebrating six years of being self aware that he is performing stand up comedy. He has been a semi-finalist in the Vermont’s Funniest Comedian Contest, appeared on YouTube's Comedian Opening Cards No Coffee, was nominated in Seven Days for a Daisy as Best Standup Comic, and hosts Wit and Wine at Shelburne Vineyards the second Friday of every month as well as having appeared on comedy showcases in Vermont and beyond.

GORDON CLARK, HOST

Gordon started stand up when he was nearing 60, and never looked back. Mostly because it hurts his neck to turn that way. Gordon is the Director of Vermont Comedy All Stars, a non-profit dedicated to promoting the comic arts in Vermont. In addition to the Zen Barn, he produces and hosts monthly comedy showcases, “Second Wednesday” Comedy Jam at Nectar’s in Burlington, and Live Stand Up at the Bent Nails Bistro in Montpelier, along with a quarterly showcase at Next Stage Arts In Putney. He lives in Burlington with his wife, dog and cat.
