From Pre-punk anthems to streetwise social commentary to timeless pop, Craig’s career as musician/singer/songwriter now spans five decades and a long list of bands. Craig’s catalogue of recordings is impressive. Albums by Mirrors, Rocket From The Tombs, X X, Saucers, The Down-fi, The Rhythm Methodists, The
Dead Man’s Handle, and solo releases along with singles and compilation tracks span the years from 1974 to today.
Craig is currently concentrating on new recordings and touring with Phil Reavis, Greg Moran, and Will Sibley as Craig Bell & The Dead Man’s Handle while also working on solo projects and recent collaborations with Heavy Mother.
Craig was born in Elmira, New York on February 22, 1952 and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio where he joined his first band, Mirrors, in 1971. In 1976 a relocation to New Haven, CT saw Craig and his bands, Saucers, The Plan, The Bell System, The Rhythm Methodists were at the forefront of the music scene of the 70s and 80s in southern New England. Craig moved to his present location of Indianapolis, IN in 1989 and continues to create, record, and tour to the present date.
