Dej's voice is perhaps one of the most recognizable in Hip-Hop and R&B music, as her Motor City roots gave her both soul and edge. Detroit-born Dej Loaf, aka Deja Trimble, was raised by her parents and grandmother on a steady diet of hip hop and jazz. Her father was killed when she was four years old, and at age nine she began writing music to channel her emotions. DeJ Loaf (an amalgam of her first name “Deja” mixed with being a sneakerhead “Loafer”) was actually bound for nursing school prior to entering the music industry. After dropping out of nursing school in 2011 to pursue music full-time, she made her debut in 2013 with the mixtape Just Do It. She followed up in 2014 with the track "Try Me", which got a major boost when Drake quoted its lyrics in an Instagram post. hat’s when the buzz started building. She inked a deal with Columbia Records, as her debut single “Try Me” cracked the Billboard Top 50, going Gold. The exposure helped establish her as an emerging hip hop force, and critics took note -- in 2015 she was chosen as part of XXL Magazine's Freshman Class. Since then she's continued her rise, dropping her highly anticipated debut album #AndSeeThatsTheThing in summer 2015 and opening for Nicki Minaj on The Pinkprint Tour.

From her relaxed flow and clever wordplay to her signature all-black gear, Loaf is the picture of self-assured swagger, and she always gets fans bouncing with her bass-heavy performances. From the hypnotic synths of "Try Me" to the sensual lyrics of "Me U & Hennessy", Dej Loaf gives ticket buyers plenty of futuristic hip hop goodness to help them get down every time she takes the stage.
