Of Montreal is an indie pop band known for their eclectic sound, theatrical performances, and vibrant visual aesthetic. Formed in Athens, Georgia in the late 1990's by frontman Kevin Barnes, the band's music blends elements of psychedelic rock, funk, glam, and electronica into a distinctive and ever-evolving style.

They have carved their own niche - establishing themselves as a band that thrills fans with compelling live performances, delights critics with their constant innovations, and continually showcases their musical evolution by drawing from a different set of influences for each album.

Led by the enigmatic and prolific songwriter Kevin Barnes, he pours emotion - heartbreak, frustration, elation, whimsy -- into lyrics that shift from adopted personas to invented alter egos to unobstructed views directly into their psyche. Barnes' introspective lyrics often delve into themes of identity, relationships, and the complexities of the human experience, imbuing the band's music with a sense of emotional depth and intellectual curiosity.

With a discography spanning over two decades, Of Montreal has released a diverse array of albums, from the whimsical and experimental "Coquelicot Asleep in the Poppies: A Variety of Whimsical Verse" to the danceable and synth-driven "Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?". Their live performances are legendary for their extravagant costumes, elaborate stage setups, and immersive multimedia experiences, captivating audiences around the world with their infectious energy and boundless creativity.

With each new release, Of Montreal continues to defy expectations and challenge conventions, cementing their status as one of the most innovative and influential bands in the indie music scene. From their early days in the underground Athens music scene to their current status as indie icons, Of Montreal remains a beacon of artistic integrity and musical innovation, inspiring legions of fans and fellow artists alike with their fearless approach to creativity.

Their newest album, "Lady on the Cusp", was released on May 17th, 2024 and is now streaming everywhere you listen to music.
