Join The Erly on March 8th, 2025 at the Stockroom East in South Bend, IN for a night of folk
rock and jam.
The Erly will be promoting their newest studio effort, Salem Lights, an 11-track Americana-rock
album that features each member on lead vocals and narrative-driven lyrics that paint a
southern-gothic landscape amongst emotional, rootsy playing. Each song has a different story
and perspective to tell. Though this album finds The Erly at their most relaxed, they are no
strangers to creating a high-octane performance. Expect a night of explosive guitar and organ
solos alongside drums and bass grooves to get the audience dancing.
Joining The Erly on stage is the South Bend act Joe Baughman + The Righteous Few. Equally
influenced by the sacred and profane, JB+RF's music takes color from daily Middle American
existence, personal sadsackery, religious imagery, and frontman Joe Baughman's experience as
a freelance artist.
The Erly is a four-piece band from Niles, Michigan, featuring Fran Gleason (drums, vocals),
Trevor McDonald (guitar, vocals), Collin Mattiford (bass, vocals), and Simon Kauffman Hurst
(keys). While the band’s core sound hits as an unmistakable blend of jam, soul, and groove,
these four musicians have never shied away - albeit via live performance or recorded tracks -
from experimenting down a path of finding new avenues to create a unique original identity.
New album “Salem Lights” (September 4th, 2024) was born out of happenstance, a jam sesh
with intent to create demos in Gleason’s basement evolving into the completed body of work.
Produced by Paul Bennett, the band describes the album as, “No metronome, all the
microphone bleed you can get, and the true sound of The Erly working together in their natural
state.”
Having played basements to dive bars to festivals to established local venues; in front of every
crowd - from release shows with hundreds to humble beginnings with an intimate handful,
whether it’s been in Michiana or the dozen-plus other states across the country The Erly has
made its mark...Fran, Trevor, Collin, and Simon are primed to continue an upward stride into
2025.
Playing an amorphous variety of folk-rock that incorporates elements of indie, funk, gospel, etc.,
JB+RF is an ensemble of musician-friends led by singer-songwriter and filmmaker Joe
Baughman. Equally influenced by the sacred and profane, JB+RF's music takes color from daily
Middle American existence, personal sadsackery, religious imagery, and Joe's experience as a
freelance artist.
