Wes Charlton
Wes blends his musicianship with sophisticated lyrics, Americana roots, and contemporary themes, to paint a profoundly haunting portrait of growing up in modern America. Wes placed in the 2005 International Songwriting Competition, and his past conference showcases include the Midwest Music Summit (IN) and Americana Music Conference (Nashville). Wes was also completed a prestigious publisher-sanctioned recording project for Arc Music Group for the back catalogue of John Lee Hooker & Sonny Boy Williamson.
Paint On It
Paint On It formed in the early days of 2019. First Billy and Drew started rehearsing some deep cuts from Billy’s back catalogue. Then Mark joined in and quickly learned the material. He suggested his brother Matt to round out the line-up. The band was originally called Billy Bacci Band, also known as BBB. This iteration of the group played about 10 gigs in the Richmond area, as well as recording an album with Mitch Clem at Go West Studios. The band name change became official August 16th, 2021. Mara Smith joined in 2021, adding keyboard, percussion, vocals, and composing skills!
Sister Planet
Sister Planet is a Psych/Rock trio from Richmond, VA. The band formed in the winter of 2023 with songwriters Lee Marchenko and Landon Clark and drummer Willis Thompson.
Oakland Rain
Even things that seem identical are different. Oakland Rain’s Maren and Charlotte are what some would call mirror twins, an elusive condition loosely defined by opposing characteristics. For example, one is left-handed, the other is right-handed; one thinks in colors (sound-to-color synesthesia), and the other is more language centric. At the essence of Oakland Rain is the artistic and emotional interweave of the twin sisters, gorgeously epitomized by their harmony vocals. The songs explore self-evolution, compassion, mental health, social engagement, and nature. These intimate and revelatory topics are written about with a literate and cinematic flair with a broad resonance.
The sisters have released critically acclaimed EPs, written for film, and Ibsen theater, amassing more than 3 million cumulative Spotify streams. The duo has toured extensively in Norway and throughout the U.S. and Europe. Back home, they have performed at prestigious festivals and halftime shows; they have appeared on national television and international radio; and had the honor of being chosen to play for the Norwegian Crown Prince and Crown Princess. Their songwriting has also been mentioned on Billboard’s list of recommendations.
Oakland Rain directly salutes its connection to its grandfather and its American heritage on their newest single; the evocative, pastoral country ballad, “If You Were A Song”. The song is part of a bigger project that will be released later this year.
