In 2025 Wyatt Espalin shakes things up with his debut full-length album. Due for release in Summer 2025, “Lies From A Lonesome Valley” features his band, the Riverstones and special guest, Amy Ray of Indigo Girls. This dynamic group of musicians has transformed a new collection of songs that invites the songwriter/singer’s fans to examine his songwriting through a different lens. After returning to his roots and the rustic campground where he was raised by his grandparents in the North Georgia Mountains, Wyatt reflected on his history. Born in East L.A. but raised in the South, the mysterious songs recorded for the new album wrestles with this identity of a free spirit yearning to find a place that feels like home. The conclusion seems to be that home might not be found in the mountains or the desert. And like that Spirit, the songs adapt well in the environment they find themselves. They are just as comfortable with a solo or duo performance with one of his amazing duo partners or as a full band. Whatever the setting, this fiddler/singer and champion clogger has won over audiences all over the country with his witty banter, sensational stories behind the songs and the haunting performances of some of the best original music to come out of the Appalachian region.
