A Celebration of Music & Meaning
Jazz for CF is inspired by musician and Cystic Fibrosis patient Francis Bassett-Dilley’s personal connection to the cause—using music to uplift others just as it has supported him throughout his journey with CF.
Our mission is to create a global community for CF patients while raising funds and awareness for both their physical and mental well-being. A portion of the event proceeds will directly support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) in their ongoing pursuit of a cure.
The evening will begin with Baba Stafford—an acclaimed artist, educator, activist, and scholar of African-rooted dance, theater, and aesthetics. From there, we’ll transition to Blue Aura, a group led by Francis Bassett-Dilley, which will take the audience on a deeply personal musical journey through his experience with CF and the profound role music has played in shaping his life. Featuring Greg Ward II (saxophone), Sam Butler (trumpet), Dan Ventura (piano), and Brendan Keller-Tuberg (bass), Blue Aura will perform original compositions that bring this story to life.
Next, we’ll enjoy a local treasure—Visions Jazz Ensemble, led by IU Jazz graduates Garrett Fasig & Sam Butler—who will bring Bloomington’s musical roots to life with a fresh and exciting reinterpretation of classic college fight songs.
To close the night, we’ll hit the dance floor with the IU Latin Jazz Ensemble, letting their infectious rhythms bring the evening to a powerful and joyful finale.
Join us for a night of music, movement, and meaning as we celebrate connection through jazz and dance—all while making a difference. We look forward to seeing you in person or via livestream through CATS Community Access Television Services.
Together, through the power of music and community, we can make a lasting impact!
