Alternate Histories, Bottlerocket, and White Whale Bookstore present a new free Atomic Cinema event featuring author Anthony Oliveira reading & discussing his new queer reframing of the gospel, DAYSPRING. The event also features a screening of Edward D. Wood Jr’s transgressive genre-defying film GLEN OR GLENDA (1953), hosted by local drag celebrity Alora Chateaux. This event celebrates the publication of Oliveira’s new book DAYSPRING (which author David Demchuck calls “bracing and breathtaking” as well as “a masterpiece”), alongside Ed Wood’s Centennial (1924-2024).

Anthony Oliveira is a three-time National Magazine and two-time GLAAD award-winning author, film programmer, pop culture critic, and PhD living in Toronto.
