Beartoe & The Midnight Howl

For more than 25 years, Beartoe has carved out his own space in the world of Roots, Blues, and Soul. Known for his raw finger-style guitar playing and heartfelt storytelling, he’s become a fixture across Florida and the Southeast—whether performing in intimate beach town bars along the coast or on festival stages like SpringFest, Orange Blossom Jamboree, and Hulaween.

In 2020, during the stillness of the pandemic, Beartoe joined forces with a powerhouse lineup of kindred spirits: John Lee Wyatt, Derek Engstrom (Leisure Chief), Anthony Cole (Sam Rivers, JJ Grey & Mofro), and Andrew Rice (The Legendary JC’s). Together, they became Beartoe & The Midnight Howl—a band whose sound pulses with Florida soul, swampy delta blues, and the deep roots of American music.

With a chemistry that’s both fiery and fluid, the group embodies the spirit of collaboration: multi-instrumental songwriters weaving grit and groove into something timeless yet distinctly their own. Slow-burning and unshakable, their music is as much a reflection of the backroads and coastlines of the South as it is of the resilience and soul of the people who live there.
