Out of Jacksonville, Florida, Bonnie Blue has been building a following the old-fashioned way — one sweaty club, one festival stage, and one long late-night jam at a time.
Rooted in the Southern rock tradition but driven by the open-ended spirit of the jam scene, Bonnie Blue blends twin guitars, soulful keys, and a deep-pocket rhythm section into a sound that feels both familiar and fresh. Their music pulls from the lineage of bands like Widespread Panic, Gov’t Mule, The Allman Brothers Band, The Band, and Grateful Dead, while carving out their own voice through original songwriting and improvisational chemistry on stage.
In many ways, Bonnie Blue is a true blue-collar band. The group’s sound and identity are the product of more than a decade of hard miles, long nights, and stages scattered across the Southeast. It’s a region where audiences grew up on this music and know it when they hear it — and Bonnie Blue has spent years cutting their teeth in front of crowds that can tell the difference between a band that’s playing Southern rock and one that’s lived it.
Like many bands that came up through the Southern jam circuit, Bonnie Blue’s reputation has been built primarily through their live shows. Their sets move easily from tight, roots-driven songwriting into long improvisational stretches where the band lets the groove take over and the songs unfold a little differently each night. That live energy has carried them onto stages alongside artists like Butch Trucks, John Popper, and Bobby Lee Rodgers, while also earning spots at beloved Southern festival gatherings including Wanee Music Festival, Magnolia Fest, and Suwannee Rising.
Bonnie Blue first brought their sound to the studio with their 2017 debut album No Lookin’ Back, a record that captured the band’s Southern rock roots and musicianship. In 2024, the group returned with No Time to Lose, a release shaped by years of road work and the musical connection that comes from sharing countless stages together.
The band’s current lineup features Willis Gore (guitar, vocals), Bradley Churchman (guitar, vocals), Adam Kenneway (bass), David Silva (drums, vocals), and Alex Sears (keyboards)— five musicians rooted in the Southern rock tradition and the improvisational freedom that defines the jam band community.
