Born of Osiris is a progressive metalcore band hailing from Chicago, Illinois, renowned for their intricate blend of technical proficiency and atmospheric soundscapes. Formed in 2003, the band consists of Ronnie Canizaro (vocals), Lee McKinney (guitar), Nick Rossi (bass), and Cameron Losch (drums).

Their distinctive musical style combines elements of deathcore and progressive metal, characterized by lightning-fast riffs, complex time signatures, and symphonic undertones. Born of Osiris gained significant attention with their debut album, "The New Reign" (2007), which showcased their virtuosic musicianship and innovative approach to songwriting. Throughout their career, Born of Osiris has released several critically acclaimed albums, including "A Higher Place" (2009), "The Discovery" (2011), "Soul Sphere" (2015), "The Eternal Reign" (2017), "The Simulation" (2019), and "Angel or Alien" (2021). Their latest full length release arrived July 2025 via Sumerian Records. Through Shadows marks the band's anticipated follow-up of their celebrated 2021 LP, Angel or Alien. The announcement follows a succession of singles that began in 2024 and all pointed towards the band's next musical chapter. Having released "Torchbearer," "A Mind Short Circuiting," "Elevate" and "In Desolation" the band's potent combination of DJent sensibility with metalcore dynamics are firing off at full capacity on the series of single that are as polished as they are powerful.

For the announcement of the album, Born of Osiris have issued another anthemic entry ahead of the LP release. Unveiling the album's title track in "Through Shadows" the track offers another sample of the onslaught ahead and serves well in speaking to the thematic weight of the record. The band collectively shared of the single and it's importance to the album, "'Through Shadows' is a reflection of the human experience — both the quiet struggles and the heavy storms we each endure. It's about confronting the darkness with the understanding that without shadow, there is no light to shine through. When all feels lost, we're left with a choice: face demise or defend our existence. This song is our call to choose the light, even in our darkest moments."
