The OFFICIAL Bottlerocket Book Club makes its return with a NEW book, and a NEW host organization for the month of APRIL!

We’ll be meeting in the bar to discuss the BOOK OF THE MONTH, enjoying some cocktails (or mocktails) and having a great time! This is an inclusive event, and all are welcome- even if it’s been a while since you’ve read anything!

Whether you’re a bookworm or just generally seeking community and want to join a new club, this is your chance! This month is for the NATURE LOVERS- we have Allegheny Land Trust leading the discussion on “THE SERVICEBERRY: ABUNDANCE AND RECIPROCITY IN THE NATURAL WORLD” by author Robin Wall Kimmerer…which we recommend picking up locally at WHITE WHALE BOOKS!

Book blurb:

As Indigenous scientist and author of Braiding Sweetgrass Robin Wall Kimmerer harvests serviceberries alongside the birds, she considers the ethic of reciprocity that lies at the heart of the gift economy. How, she asks, can we learn from Indigenous wisdom and the plant world to reimagine what we value most?

About ALLEGHENY LAND TRUST: Allegheny Land trust is a 501c3 land conservation nonprofit that has helped local people save local land in the Pittsburgh region since 1993. ALT conserves and cares for more than 4,000 acres of green space, and everyone in Allegheny County lives within 8 miles of one of these lands. From large swaths of forested land to small plots of community gardens, ALT applies its conservation toolbelt to conserving and stewarding local green space, and invites people to these lands for environmental education programs
