Madre Vaca is a composer-led collective blending jazz, classical, and contemporary music through a mix of written material and improvisation. Core members include Benjamin Shorstein, Jarrett Carter, and Thomas Milovac, with collaborators shifting depending on the project.

Charlie Shuck is a songwriter, poet, and photographer born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. His music is deeply emotional though witty, dry, and humorous - landing somewhere between nihilism and hope. Former host of the Late Nite Open Mic at Nighthawks, and Songwriter Spotlight at Rain Dogs, he was active in the creative scene in Jax for nearly 20 years before moving to Richmond, VA in November 2025.
