After more than two decades, Cip’s story comes full circle in a powerful night of music, memory, and momentum. For one unforgettable night, Cip will be joined by J. Chambers of New World Spirits and former bandmates for a My Blue Life reunion set; finally bringing the journey back to the very stage that sparked it all.

Cip’s journey into music wasn’t planned — it was forged.

He moved to Missouri on a football scholarship, but after a career-ending injury abruptly changed his path, everything shifted. In late 1993, friends took him to see New World Spirits at The Regency Showcase in Springfield, Missouri. That night lit a fuse.

Inspired, Cip borrowed a guitar, taught himself to play, wrote ten songs in rapid succession, and formed the band Portly Children — driven largely by one goal: to one day play that same stage at The Regency.

After lineup changes and a rebrand to My Blue Life, the band toured relentlessly for five years, building a devoted grassroots following and attracting national industry attention. Their momentum led to opening slots with major label artists including Jewel, Bush, Lisa Loeb, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Supertramp, REO Speedwagon, Cake, Ziggy Marley and many more.

My Blue Life was featured twice on the Point Essential compilation albums from legendary St. Louis alternative station KPNT 105.7 The Point, and headlined the Point Essential CD release parties at Mississippi Nights and Riverport Amphitheater (now Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre). The band earned airplay across KPNT, Hot 106.7, KTOZ, Alice 95.5 and stations nationwide.

Despite several close calls with breakout success, and without a defining hit single, My Blue Life disbanded at the end of 1999.

In 2001, Cip “retired” from music and eventually relocated to New York, building a successful career in medical technology sales. But music wasn’t done with him.

After a lengthy hiatus, he was invited to open for Wide Awak: A U2 Experience in Webster, NY — a performance that reignited his passion for the stage. Since returning, Cip has rapidly become one of the Northeast’s top live draws, performing more than 100 shows per year over the past two years.

This March, Cip returns to where it all began — a theater show in St. Louis, followed by a homecoming performance at the legendary Regency Live.

To bring the whole experience full circle, Cip will be joined by J. Chambers (lead singer of New World Spirits) and several of his former bandmates for a My Blue Life reunion set.
