Citizen Soldier was born in 2016 when frontman Jake Segura penned the lyrics to “Let It Burn” from a psychiatric hospital. Now practicing as a clinical therapist, he implements intensely emotional lyrical themes on mental health into their music. The band presents an accessible message that combats stigmatization and provides a group therapy dynamic.The band has gained recognition for their raw, emotionally charged music and poignant lyrics that tackle mental health, personal struggles, and resilience. Based in Salt Lake City, Utah, Segura is joined by guitarists Matt Duffney and Kooper Hanosky, bassist/keyboardist Wonitta, and drummer Kyle Persell. Their name symbolizes the idea of everyday individuals fighting their personal battles, a theme that is deeply woven into their music.

Wallen's early career saw him as a member of the band Copper, which gained a regional following and released several albums showcasing his burgeoning skills. His big break came in 2013 when he joined the acclaimed rock band Breaking Benjamin as a guitarist and backing vocalist. In addition to his work with Breaking Benjamin, Wallen has pursued a solo career, allowing him to explore a broader range of musical styles.
