From the basics of mixing and building a library to the innate ability to read a crowd and take them on a musical journey, whether you're an experienced DJ or someone completely new to the decks - this class has something for you.

Featuring guest speakers, your own DJ controllers, and hands on workshops in every session - this six week course is not only one of the most educational classes in town, it's hands down the most fun too.

This class will culiminate in a class led party at Bottlerocket.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR: Stephanie Tsong (Formosa/Jellyfish)

Stephanie Tsong is a multi-disciplinary Taiwanese-American DJ, artist, and designer who performs as "formosa" and as half of monthly Pittsburgh queer party and music duo, Jellyfish. Raised on an eclectic mix of sounds that reflect a youth spent listening to global pop music and dancing in gay clubs in DC and Baltimore, you can expect their sets to range from Italo to electro, jackin' house, city pop, disco, minimal, breakbeat, freestyle, and more. In addition to Jellyfish, they have a monthly residency at Cobra Lounge in Pittsburgh called Take Care. Both as a solo DJ as well as performing as Jellyfish, Stephanie has played all over the continental United States and has plans to travel with their music even more in the future.
