Southern Gothic influences.

Based in Atlanta and Athens,GA, Wieuca has modeled themselves after prolific 90’s lofi acts like Guided By Voices, withover 40 releases to date. What if Ween

was heavy? What if Beck was emo? What if bands from the Elephant 6 Collective sounded like they’ve ever heard a rap song? With blistering guitars and glitchy electronics, Wieuca’s sprawling catalog provides a futuristic and aggressive take on 90’s oddball favorites.

Having collaborated with artists ranging from indie darling Faye Webster to Three6Mafia’s LaChat, Wieuca’s calling card is finding creative and often bizarre ways to bridge disparate subgenres and play with their tropes.

Pitchfork’s late Ray Suzuki summed it up nicely; “Wieuca doesn’t have any love songs. This is music for fighting in a Home Depot parking lot.”
