Fareed Haque's trio ventures into new territory, developing his classical guitar-inspired fingerstyle arrangements of classic jazz, funk, and Latin standards and unique compositions. Playing music from Bill Evans and McCoy Tyner to Sergio Mendes and The Meters, as well as a healthy dose of original music, this trio redefines the contrapuntal possibilities of the guitar in a trio setting. Featuring the legendary Mike Clark and the incredible Peter Washington on bass.

Fareed Haque is a unique guitar virtuoso celebrated for his seamless mastery of both classical guitar and jazz fusion. A former member of Joe Zawinul’s Syndicate and co-founder of the jam band Garaj Mahal, Haque blends technical precision with a "natural eclecticism" drawn from his diverse global heritage. Haque remains one of the few artists capable of bridging the gap between high-level classical performance and world-class jazz improvisation.

Mike Clark is a drumming pioneer best known for his groundbreaking "linear" funk style and his work with Herbie Hancock’s The Headhunters. His complex, syncopated groove on the track "Actual Proof" redefined the role of the drums in jazz-funk and remains a masterclass in modern rhythm. While his beats are among the most sampled in hip-hop, Clark is equally a master of straight-ahead jazz, having performed with legends like Wayne Shorter and Chet Baker.

Peter Washington is a titan of the jazz rhythm section, revered for his immaculate timing and a deep, authoritative tone. After rising to prominence with Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, he established himself as the definitive "first-call" bassist of the modern era. Whether anchoring the Bill Charlap Trio or supporting legends like Tommy Flanagan, Washington’s playing is defined by a refined sense of swing and a steadfast commitment to the groove.
