Belgian-born and New Orleans based blues-rock artist Ghalia Volt brings her electrifying blend of modern blues and rock 'n' roll to Smith's Olde Bar's Music Room in Atlanta on August 30.

Special guest Kent Burnside, the grandson of Hill Country blues legend R.L. Burnside, blends Mississippi Hill Country, Delta blues, Chicago blues, and blues-rock into a powerful sound that honors his family's musical legacy while forging his own path.

Together, they'll deliver an unforgettable evening celebrating the past, present, and future of American roots music.

Ghalia Volt is a modern blues artist whose time has come. With her relentless drive, captivating stage presence, and ability to command audiences in both solo and full-band settings, Volt has emerged as a rising force on the international blues scene. Originally from Belgium and now rooted in the American South, Volt bridges the gap between tradition and innovation, blending the grit of Hill Country blues with the raw energy of rock and roll. In 2024, she toured extensively across the U.S. and Europe, sharing stages with artists like Tab Benoit, Samantha Fish, Jesse Dayton, Dragon Smoke, and Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band. Whether performing with her powerful trio or as a One-Woman Band, her shows are an unforgettable journey through the blues, infused with passion, authenticity, and an undeniable mystique.

"Ghalia Volt’s fearless blend of blues, rock and roots influences, pairing gritty grooves with a deeply personal lyrical core. Anchored by a swampy rhythm and pulsing energy, “Burn the House Down” offers another glimpse into an artist who continues to push beyond traditional boundaries." -Blues Rock Review

Grandson of Hill Country Blues legend R.L. Burnside, Kent Burnside blends Mississippi Hill Country, Delta, Chicago Blues, and Blues-Rock into a style all his own. After early touring with Jimbo Mathus and opening for Buddy Guy, Kent built a 20-year career fronting his own band. His new album, Hill Country Blood, produced by GRAMMY winner Boo Mitchell, features eight originals plus covers of John Lee Hooker and Junior Kimbrough. Raw, soulful, and high-energy, the record honors tradition while forging ahead.
