Give the drummer some! An open mic for drummers hosted by local drummer Jerry Barton. A celebration of the drum set with instrument duos, keys/drums, bass/drums, guitar/drums, plus drum solos and duos! Bring your sticks and hot licks we’ll be rolling starting at 7!

About the host: In the sixth grade Jerry Barton opted out of playing the drums, even though he was interested, because too many students said they wanted to be drummers in the class. By eighth grade, the fire was still burning, and he really, really wanted to play drums. He joined the school band and by Senior year he was playing gigs with grown adults in bars he shouldn’t have been allowed in.

After high school he found himself playing in bands around San Diego and later moved to NorCal where he became a member of the popular Sacramento band “As Yet Untitled.” AYU shared the stage with big name acts such as Cake, Oleander, General Public, and many others. He was a finalist in the Sacramento Region Guitar Center Drum Off and is well versed in many playing styles. Jerry currently plays drums for the Main Street Collective’s Talking Heads Tribute, he’s in an original band called Supercommon, and he’s the drummer for Later Days, a Mother Hips experience.
