Some scenes feel like they were built overnight. Durham's wasn't. What has grown here over the past two decades, especially in metal and hip hop, is the product of bands and crews who kept showing up, playing basements, bars, parking lots, and built something that didn't need outside validation to exist. Genuine Durham is a celebration of that. A night that brings the two loudest, most uncompromising corners of this city's underground onto the same stage and dares you to find the line between them.

IDEA OF BEAUTY and 2DEADCREW headline a lineup that pulls from every corner of North Carolina and proves this is bigger than one city. IDEA OF BEAUTY were a staple of the Triangle scene throughout the 2000s, sharing stages with He Is Legend, Glass Casket, Classic Case, and more, and made it to Warped Tour multiple times, in an era when that meant something. They return to the stage carrying the weight of that history and the urgency of a band that still has something to say. 2DEADCREW closes the night fresh off multiple stops supporting Riff Raff on his latest tour. Dense, physical, and rooted in Durham's rap underground, they arrive here with momentum and a room that has been waiting for them.

Opening the floor at 8pm is END OF YOUR ROPE, hauling 90s-style hardcore aggression up from Greensboro and the Piedmont Triad. NUNAFTERHOURS follows, a genre-bending artist, songwriter, and producer who lives somewhere between the moshpit and the dance floor. Part fever dream, part confession, and entirely her own universe, she blends rock, punk, emo, pop, and hip hop into something raw and unapologetic that defies any single category. Then GUN METAL BLACK, a Durham metalcore band reuniting after 18 years away, takes the stage for what amounts to a resurrection. They haven't played since 2007 and that alone makes this night historic. MUSASHI XERO closes out the undercard from Asheville, delivering poetic catharsis over dark, textured production that fuses alternative rap and underground bass music. Cold-blooded and cut-throat, Xero growls, sneers, and whispers through an arsenal of flows built to soundtrack your dystopia.

From Greensboro to Asheville to Durham, this lineup is North Carolina in a room. Between every act, HAZRDPAY holds the floor together with 15-minute sets that keep the energy locked and the crowd moving, something he has been doing for years holding the decks down for Jooselord since day one. The night will also feature special guests performing throughout the evening, plus a curated selection of local vendors on site. All to be announced.

Twenty years is a long time to keep a scene alive. North Carolina did it without a blueprint, without a major market behind it, and without slowing down. This event is proof.
