ENTROPY

AN ALBUM BY MSAKI AND JESSE CLEGG

By definition Entropy means the degradation of matter and energy in the universe into an ultimate state of inert uniformity. It represents the general tendency of the universe toward disorder, decay, and eventual death. One may approach this concept with a sense of despair or with surrender, curiosity and acceptance.

“The songs on this album reflect both positions: one resists this inevitability, perhaps even naively, while the other embodies an intimate and unflinching acceptance of life’s transience, embracing the return to source without fear or resistance. Within this tension lies the possibility of joy, acceptance, beauty, friendship, and connection, even amidst unpredictability and loss.

My admiration for this project stems from its layered nature and from the fact that it is the by-product of a profound friendship with Jesse. It compels me to reflect on mysteries we cannot fully articulate: why we encounter certain people, what underlies a natural sense of affinity, and why art sustains us most powerfully in moments when we are least prepared to create or strive.”
