King Falcon
Outfitted with lived-in and loud vintage gear, shaped equally by 21st-century alternative and
classic rock, and proudly born in New York City, King Falcon revs up raw and raucous
anthems with attitude and a whole lot of emotion. The trio—Michael Rubin [vocals, lead
guitar], Joe Conserva [bass], and Dipayan “Dip” Chakraborty [drums]—boldly break
boundaries both in the studio and on stage. Recently, they gained notable recognition with
their new radio charting single, "Plastic Crown," written by Michael Rubin, Jared Weeks
(Saving Abel), and Skidd Mills. The track exemplifies their evolving sound and has furthered
their presence on the airwaves.
Michael, who has spent hours with a guitar in hand obsessing over classic records by
Steely Dan and Led Zeppelin, as well as contemporary influences like Tame Impala’s
Currents, founded his first project, Inoculated Canaries, after years at School of Rock and
local buzz. He officially launched King Falcon in 2020. Blown away by demos, Mascot Label
Group signed the band during the height of the global pandemic—without even seeing them
live or meeting in person. The self-titled debut, King Falcon, arrived in 2023, racking up over
2 million streams on Spotify, fueled by singles like “Ready Set Go,” “Cadillac,” and
“Everybody’s Down.” Critical acclaim followed, with mxdwn naming them “Best New Artist
2023,” and Guitar World calling them “one of NYC’s most exciting indie-rock bands.” The
band continues to pack houses at headline shows and has shared stages with artists from
Des Roc, The Struts, Saving Abel and Sublime With Rome. As they refine their signature
style, King Falcon is set to release a series of new singles and their highly anticipated
second full-length album in 2026.
