Forming in 2008, Make Them Suffer roared to life armed with ferocious deathcore leanings before stamping their name on the heavy scene with lashings of melodic flair via their 2012 debut album Neverbloom. Out of the local metal and hardcore scene in Perth, Western Australia in 2008, The local music scene would serve to develop the band in their formative years before touring nationally and internationally in the years to follow.

Birthed from symphonic elements, Make Them Suffer embrace classical and modern digital virtual instruments and samples, with nods to the likes of Lacuna Coil, Nightwish, Halestorm, Jinjer and Spiritbox driving their adaptation on the metalcore genre. From there, a fearless pursuit of creative exploration would see the band morph from local Perth favourites into stalwart fixtures on the world stage, previously releasing four studio albums, including 2020’s How to Survive A Funeral which debuted at #17 on the Australian Charts, while also amassing millions of streams, performing sold out headline runs, and touring alongside a horde of industry heavyweights, including recent stints with Bring Me The Horizon, Sleep Token, Parkway Drive and Bad Omens.

Recently adding new vocalist and keyboardist Alex Reade into the role of "The Fifth Member" for Make Them Suffer, Reade's first encounter with the band simultaneously was when she stepped off a flight landing in Brisbane for the production of the group's Doomswitch video. Amongst a lineup change, a global pandemic, and the residual reality of external expectations in the lead up to their fifth studio album, Make Them Suffer’s self-produced and self-titled 2024 full length is one unflinchingly driven by cohesion and candour, simultaneously honouring their past while expounding their present in torridly authentic fashion. A band fluent in endurance and innovation, it’s in 2024 that Make Them Suffer come full circle, arriving at their most galvanized era to date.

“Anybody following the band over the past number of years knows we have undergone immense change, self discovery, and subsequently, have experienced a reinvention. We feel as if the stars have aligned to create a very special time in the band’s career and we can’t wait to show everyone that growth.”
