Matt The Electrician and Dan Bern, two talented and acclaimed artists, are teaming up for a seated intimate evening at the Zen Arcade stage at The Hook & Ladder.

Matt the Electrician is Matthew Sever, a quirky, sincere folk/pop singer songwriter based in Austin, TX. He has self-released 11 studio albums, and 2 live CDs since 1998. Matt moved to Austin, TX from the West Coast in 1996 to pursue music full time. He regularly tours all over the world, specifically The US, Canada, Western Europe and Japan. His songs have been featured on Network TV shows, in feature length movies, and in TV commercials. He regularly plays festivals, theaters, nightclubs, and house concerts, and will continue to do so until he cannot.

“Matt the Electrician sings about virtue and hope on his upcoming album, We Imagined An Ending...The guitars are Big Star bright, the harmonies choir-like, and Matt’s own delivery a jolt of clarity in a cacophonous world.” – Rolling Stone

Critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Dan Bern returns to the Hook & Ladder for a special performance. A captivating live performer with a loyal multi-generational following, Bern has released 25 albums and EP’s and his songs have appeared in numerous films and TV shows. Ani DiFranco, an early supporter of Bern’s, took him on tour with her and produced his second album, Fifty Eggs.

He has been compared favorably to the great masters of songwriting, such as Guthrie, Dylan, Costello. Though he draws from the great American tradition of songwriting, there is something deeply unique and compelling that make you want to get to know the man behind the songs.
