For the past seven years, local musician Matt Gogola has brought comfort and connection through weekly folk music performances at Abiitan Mill City’s memory care center—uplifting a community of elders who once helped shape the Twin Cities. Now, he’s uniting his passion for music and service to support another vital organization: Open Arms of Minnesota.

Open Arms provides free, nutritious meals to people living with life-threatening illnesses like HIV/AIDS and cancer. After a devastating loss of state and federal funding, the organization is now at risk—forcing some clients to go without food. Matt’s firsthand experience as a former Open Arms intern and community member inspired him to act.

On Saturday, July 12, Matt is organizing a powerful night of music at The Hook and Ladder Theater. Featuring beloved local bands and artists, this benefit concert will raise funds to help Open Arms continue delivering life-saving meals.
