Celebrate Halloween at Sanctuary with Playing Dead’s DEAD-O-WEEN—a full night of Grateful Dead music, Halloween mischief, and good old-fashioned freaky fun.

Playing Dead brings the music of the Grateful Dead to life with the improvisation, energy, and anything-can-happen spirit that makes this music perfect for a Halloween party. Expect Dead favorites, deep cuts, extended jams, and plenty of surprises along the way.

👻 Come in Costume — Costume Contest!

Costumes are strongly encouraged, because DEAD-O-WEEN wouldn't be complete without Sanctuary filled with dancing skeletons, cosmic cowboys, scarlet begonias, dire wolves, hippies, witches, and whatever other strange characters wander in from Shakedown Street.

We'll hold a Costume Contest during the evening, so come ready to show off your creativity. Prizes will be awarded to our favorite costumes!

Go solo, come as a couple, or get the whole crew together for a group costume. Grateful Dead-inspired costumes are always welcome—but anything goes!
