Harken Hall invites the community to a free evening of conversation with Rich Logis, founder of Leaving MAGA, on Friday, July 17, at 7:00 p.m. The event will feature Logis sharing his personal journey from devoted supporter of the MAGA movement to founder of an organization that supports people who are questioning or leaving the movement. The evening will include audience questions and discussion centered on reconciliation, personal growth and civic engagement.
After spending seven years as an active member of the MAGA movement, Logis says he began reexamining his beliefs in 2021. His experience ultimately led him to establish Leaving MAGA, a nonprofit organization that provides a welcoming, nonjudgmental community for people who have left—or are considering leaving the movement—while encouraging healing and reconciliation with family and friends.
Today, Leaving MAGA's mission is to empower people to share their stories, foster understanding and equip others to help individuals navigating similar experiences.
Logis has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, USA Today, Newsweek and numerous international media outlets discussing his story and the mission of Leaving MAGA. He is also the author of the recently released memoir, One Betrayal Too Many: Why I Left MAGA, which chronicles his journey into and out of the movement and the lessons he learned along the way.
"Harken Hall was created to bring people together through music, storytelling and shared experiences," said Jamie Amos, President of Harken Hall. "We believe that listening to one another—even when we don't always agree—is an important part of building a stronger community. We're hosting this event because everyone has a story worth hearing. Whether attendees agree with Rich's perspective or are simply curious about his journey, we hope the evening encourages understanding, thoughtful dialogue and a greater appreciation for one another. Hosting this event does not represent an endorsement of any political party or ideology. Harken Hall's mission is to provide a welcoming space where people can gather, listen and learn from one another."
Admission is free, but reservations are required. While there is no charge to attend this special community event, guests are asked to reserve complimentary tickets in advance so Harken Hall can plan seating and provide the best possible experience for everyone attending. Free tickets may be reserved online. The event begins at 7:00 p.m., with doors opening at 6:00 p.m.
