About The Class
This class is perfect for anyone interested in exploring the power of their own narratives, or stand-up comics looking to incorporate storytelling into their act. This course guides you through the process of mining your life experiences to craft a compelling, true, and funny story. Each week, you'll dive into key aspects of storytelling, from structure and humor to presentation skills, culminating in a live showcase where you'll share your 5-10 minute story with a live audience. Whether you're a new to performing or a grizzled pro looking for a creative boost, this course offers a supportive environment to develop your voice, connect with others, and uncover the extraordinary in your everyday life.

Meet The Instructor: Alan Olifson
Alan Olifson is an award-winning humor columnist, comedian and was the regular host of Pittsburgh’s monthly Moth StorySlams. He created the acclaimed storytelling series Wordplay at Bricolage theater and now produces the new storytelling/talk show Speakeasy with Arcade Comedy Theater. His book, Manchild: My Life without Adult Supervisionfrom Six Gallery Press is available wherever you buy books—hopefully somewhere local.
