THE PENTAGRAM STRING BAND
The Pentagram String Band (often billing themselves as Johnny Lawhorn and The Pentagram String Band) is a self-described "satanic bluegrass" and gothic folk punk group hailing from Kansas City, Missouri. Active for nearly a decade, the band is widely recognized in underground acoustic circles for their high-energy, chaotic live shows and deliberate subversion of traditional acoustic roots music. Instead of standard folk narratives, the band filters traditional acoustic arrangements through the aggressive ethos of punk rock, gothic horror, and thrash metal.

SWAMP RATS
Swamp Rats is a Florida-based DIY folk punk and "folky punkgrass" outfit. They seamlessly blend intricate, driving clawhammer banjo work with aggressive punk tempos and gritty, dual-vocal harmonies. Originally starting out as a stripped-down acoustic duo, their instrumentation frequently centers around acoustic guitar and banjo. They have since expanded their live energy to feature a full-band arrangement complete with upright bass, a washboard, and a makeshift choir.
