The Rare Occasions are an LA-based, New England-bred indie rock band known for their explosive garage rock anthems with catchy vocal harmonies. The Rare Occasions formed in Boston in 2012. Since then, they have toured nationally, won the John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and released a vast catalog of music online. In 2021 the band released their album, Big Whoop, which received significant press and radio play. Around the same time, their 2016 track “Notion” went viral on TikTok and continues to make waves, topping Spotify’s viral chart in the US and several other countries, and later landing on Billboard’s alternative charts and top 100 singles charts in the UK, Ireland, and Canada. They released their 3rd LP, Through Moonshot Eyes end of 2024. They’ve garnered radio play across the states, and even in the UK for the new album and completed a national headlining tour to support it.

Girl Tones, of planet Earth, are a high-energy rock duo brought to life by two sisters named Kenzie and Laila. Both classically trained musicians, Kenzie transitioned from cello to guitar and Laila from piano to drums in an effort to electrify sentient beings from this galaxy to the next. Their debut releases were produced by Brad Shultz of Cage The Elephant and released via his label Parallel Vision in partnership with Big Loud Rock.

Their first offerings have earned the praise of Rolling Stone, VICE, Consequence, PAPER, NME, DORK, SPIN and many others with Flaunt saying, “Their sound is fluid, and yet with each release, they evolve as a harmonious group, developing their unique sound as one.”

In their short but mighty existence, the duo has become synonymous with riotous live shows. Girl Tones has toured with Cage The Elephant across the globe, as well as The Velveteers, hey, nothing., Silversun Pickups, and Dexter and the Moonrocks in North America. Making their unignorable festival debut at Lollapalooza, Shaky Knees, Austin City Limits and more, Rolling Stone said, “While the White Stripes — their most obvious comparison — were about controlled energy, Girl Tones are proudly imperfect.”

Now in 2026, Girl Tones are making their way towards the release of their debut album. All the while, they have more tour dates coming up supporting Peter McPoland and festival appearances at The Great Escape in the UK, and back in the US at Bonnaroo, Bottlerock, Treefort and Outside Days.
