Trailin' Smoke has been playing country fried classic rock all around the DMV since 2018. We pride our self in offering a different show than many cover bands. Plenty of recognizable favorites colored with our own diverse influences but sure to bring a song or too you've never heard covered before.
PERFORMERS
John Seiler - A 15 year veteran playing in the area John brings excitement with his blistering acoustic and electric guitar playing with a lot of blues, rock, and bluegrass influence. Earthy and honest lead vocals and a stage presence to keep the party jumping.
Trevor Havens - Co-founder of Trailin Smoke with John,Trevor is also a long time veteran on vocals and guitar in multiple bands. Bringing the country flair to the show with shuffling boogie woogie acoustic playing and booming intense lead vocals. And if that isn't enough wait until he starts ripping out leads on the mandolin.
Jonathan Broga - Once known as "A Bass Machine Mounted on a Combat Chassis" for no particular reason other than poor taste, this Dad Rock Phil Lesh Wannabe knows the importance of #9 ball bearings, the 1, and the complicated calculus of beer, bass bombs and butts. He endeavors to treat the root like a gas station toilet - only using it when he has no other choice to avoid an unpleasant catastrophe.
Ben McCawley - The newest member really pulls it all together with his incredible guitar playing. Pulling inspiration from rock, jazz, and punk rock. Ben's scorching leads go from heart wrenching to hurricane, and his soaring harmonies really fill the whole thing out.
Doug Toler - Speaking of high octane, Doug's powerful yet dynamic drumming thunders behind the boys like an artillery assault behind the front line. Whether raucous rock tunes or country, the beat is in good hands with this man.
Brookhouse is a singer-songwriter, guitarist, and cultural chameleon mixing rock, jazz, Americana, and Latin music into an expansive celebration of what it means to be American. As a Cuban-American born in Virginia, his eclectic tastes translate into a high-energy live show featuring danceable political anthems, contemplative confessions, and carefree celebrations, supported by his dynamic backing band that plays different instruments for every show.
Taken all together, Brookhouse gets compared to artists from all over the world - soulful vocals like Hozier, the Latin influence of Santana, the anything-could-happen energy of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
Despite this incredible variety, there is a common thread: the message that we all contain multitudes, and accepting that in yourself will set you free.
