Yellow Velvet delivers playful and memorably unique indie jazz blended with classical roots, intricate time signatures, lush harmonies, and charming doo-wop sensibilities, along with a healthy dose of banter on the side. Brookelove Hanlon brings a lifetime of expertise on the bass, Chris BD is just as comfortable playing a jazz club as he is in a Chopin competition, and sibling dynamic duo Pigeon and Joshua Valentine have been training to achieve peak rhythmic synergy since birth. Along with Joshua, the band’s drum team is finally rounded out with local math rock legend Lucas Kirby.

DC-based electronic musician Jawschua enjoys long walks on the beach and cooking his own tortillas. He also makes downtempo, bass-heavy sample collage music ranging from IDM and hip-hop sounds to colorful ambient textures. With frequent visits from friends and collaborators, Jawschua embraces improvisation in his practice and aims to bring an element of something new and alive to each set.

Andrew Watts - Electronic specialist and electric cellist for St. Engine. Connecting the whole band into one engine to produce glitched out and spacey sounds.

Opal Payne - Lead singer of St Engine. Switching between electronic vocal harmonies and powerful in your face vocals, opal drives the bands engine with their dynamic range of vocals and introspective lyrics about living your life to its potential.
