GAY FOR THE MAT is all about fluidity– finding ourselves in moments of presence and stillness, contrasted by opportunities to try out new shapes and get silly as we reconnect with our inner child. From a gentle stretch warm up, to a fluid vinyasa flow, and introductions to more challenging poses, you’ll be invited to move as your body allows and what feels good to you.

Yoga isn’t just about breath and holds, yoga is an opportunity to explore. “Yoga” comes from the Sanskrit word yuj, meaning “to unite.” This practice is about just that: uniting with ourselves, with each other, and with the collective queer joy that LAVENDER LUX is all about. This is an all-levels class—no experience required. The only requirement is to come with an open mind!

Come as you are… but maybe bring a mat, a block, a strap… a strap-on??? if you have it! We’ll have limited mats and props to lend out.
